About G.O. Baggery

I'm a guy who was born, raised and lives in one of the premier bicycling cites in the United States. Tired of watching the manufacturing of goods leave our shores, I decided to try to do something about it. One bag at a time.

My name is Garen and I'm a native of Portland, Oregon. I am a machinist by trade and am happiest when creating, whether that is with metal or fabric. Because the US manufacturing industry has been so completely gutted, my degree is virtually useless in the job market. This has contributed to my growing belief that buying locally produced and handmade goods is one definitive way that I can make a difference, as well as turning my own creative outlets into potential earnings for myself and my family.

My bags are mostly made out of coated Cordura nylon fabric, cotton canvas, nylon webbing and grosgrain, plastic hardware and military-spec bonded nylon thread. I strive to use as much USA-made materials as possible. All of my bags are sewn on an industrial lock-stitch sewing machine in my apartment. No two bags are alike as each is completely handmade by me from start to finish.

If you don't find what you're looking for, feel free to let me know what kind of bag you need and I'm sure we can work together to design just the right bag.
